Pininfarina showcased the prototype of Battista at Geneva Motor Show in 2019 and since then the car is undergoing extensive strategizing, development and testing on tracks and tunnels.

Former formula one driver, Nick Heidfeld has been driving and testing the prototypes and is also appointed as the brand ambassador of the Battista model. Sources confirmed that Nick will also assist customers in familiarizing themselves with the new electric hyper-car. Choosing Nick was a smart move, as someone who knows every iota of a hyper-car can judiciously assess its performance capabilities.

Development phases are held under the supervision of Rene Wollmann, who happens to be the former director of Mercedes-AMG. With utmost joy, Wollmann announced that mules running the tracks carrying chassis and powertrain concepts of Battista, have accomplished 80% of performance capability without fault.

“This signifies that our EV performance is already equal to the most powerful combustion engine-powered hyper-car currently in the world”, said a delighted Wollmann, marking an unmatched achievement. Continuing to share the excitement, Wollman also mentioned that during simulation and wind tunnel testing phase, fine-tuning the aero packaging, symbolically increased the potential range of Battista, which is way ahead of the original prediction.

The upcoming Battista is said to feature a Rimac-sourced EV powertrain that includes four electric motors producing a combined 1,873 hp of maximum power and 1,696 lb-ft (2,300 Nm) of peak torque, fed by a 120 kWh battery pack.

Pininfarina is leaving no stone unturned to deliver a unique, thrilling and pure-electric hypercar for an unparalleled driving experience.
