Lamborghini introduces Huracan EVO with rear-wheel drive

Lamborghini has recently launched a new rear-wheel-drive variant for the Huracan EVO for 2020. The vehicle retains the styling of its predecessor but comes with reduced weight.

Lamborghini had replaced the original Huracan with the Huracan Evo for this year, and the car has been offered a new trim and enhanced features. From the outside, one might not find any form of differences in the looks of the vehicle, but the automaker has returned Evo's Performance Traction Control System for this rear-wheel-drive variant.

The company claims that the performance of the car would not be affected much as their TCS system will deliver torque to the back wheels. The loyal fan base of Evo is assured that the vehicle would provide the same torque during the phase where the vehicle is realigning or side-slipping.

Evo also offers its user with a drive mode that would allow the rear wheels to slide and skate during acceleration, for drifting quickly without compromising with the safety of the driver. Under the hood, the car is said to carry a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine as its other siblings. Although, the automaker might have left out its rear-wheel steering feature.

The RWD offering of the Evo generates a maximum of 602 horsepower and produces a peak torque of up to 630 Nm. Also, the updated offering is about 75 pounds lighter than its AWD predecessors. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission handles the transmission of the car, and it is said to touch the speed of 100 km per hour from an idle start in a time of 3.3 seconds, at high rates of 325 km per hour.

Moving on to the inside of the car, it gets a new 8.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.  Standard safety features like Anti Lock Braking System, driver airbag, and Passenger airbag are kept unchanged. Lastly, the RWD variant has also received a price cut of approximately $50,000 over its all-wheel-drive counterpart, which is tagged at $208,571.
