2020 Lotus Evora GT is here, packs in 416 horses

With enhanced aerodynamics, more than before power, and lesser weight, the 2020 Lotus Evora GT is finally here. Not only the sports car replaces the Evora 400 and 410 in the British automobile manufacturer’s portfolio but also brings a breath of fresh air. Just like any other Lotus that has been produced till date, the 2020 Evora is one sleek and sexy looking sports car with some sensuous curves going around its body.

2020 Lotus Evora GT Front

The light-weight of the 2020 Lotus Evora GT is because of the carbon-fiber parts like front fender panels, rear-wheel arch vents, rear bumper, side sills, and Sparco bucket seats. Moreover, customers can also avail the optional carbon pack that includes carbon-fibre made rear trunk hatch, door sills, roof, and diffuser. The British sports car rides on a set of 19-inch wheels that comes wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. AP Racing brakes gripping lightweight two-piece discs take care of the braking duties on the car.

2020 Lotus Evora GT Cabin

Powering the 2020 Lotus Evora GT is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 motor that makes 416 hp of maximum power. Yeah, you got that right. This is the same Toyota-sourced V6 mill that produced 410 hp on the Evora 410. While the maximum power output remains the same, the supercharged V6 produces 450 Nm and 430 Nm of peak torque when coupled with the automatic and the six-speed manual gearbox, respectively. The 2020 Lotus Evora GT also gets a Torsen-style limited-slip differential with the manual gearbox. A 0-97 kmph run takes no more than 3.8 seconds in the sports car. The enhanced performance from the 2020 Lotus Evora GT also comes courtesy of the 141 pounds of maximum downforce. When put into comparison, the outgoing Evora 400 boasted a downforce half of what the newer GT packs in.

2020 Lotus Evora GT Rear

“The additional downforce is created by the combination of the deep front splitter and new motorsport-derived rear diffuser, mounted beneath lightweight composite mesh grille. Curved lower A-panels smooth airflow along the sides of the car, reducing drag, and front-wheel arch air louvres, and sculptured carbon fibre ducts behind each rear wheel vent high-pressure air from the wheel arches, balancing downforce front and rear”, said Lotus.

Along with the two-seat configuration, the 2020 Lotus Evora GT can also be had with a four-seat setup. Furthermore, customers can also go for the Öhlins TTX aluminium two-way adjustable dampers instead of the stock Bilstein dampers which comes equipped with Eibach springs. The car offers a total of four different driving modes, namely Drive, Sport, Race, and Off. The 2020 Lotus Evora GT has been given a price tag of $96,950 and the booking booklets are open.
