2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro priced at $45,080, $1,000 more than 2019 model

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma mid-sized pickup truck was recently shown at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. The new model is loaded with mildly revised looks and a few added tech features. The updations on the exterior styling include new grille along with fresh wheels and tweaked trim while the truck’s cabin grabbed some items as well. And when it comes to pricing, the vehicle comes at a premium price.

As per the order guides received, the top of the line-up model will carry a price tag of $45,080 (including the required $1,120 destination charge), which is $1,000 more than last year’s model. As reported earlier, the most 2020 Tacos will only see a price increase of around $200. So this increase between the models is uncommon in the context of updates. And the question arises, what extra comes in $1,000?

The item breakdown of equipment can only be speculated as no details are provided by the automaker. The indications suggest all-new Pro-specific 16-inch wheels, LED lights, and standard-issue tech such as Toyota’s Panoramic View Monitor and Multi-Terrain Monitor, which easily justify the $1,000 price increase. Along with this, a new eight-inch display and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity further describe the price-bump.

The price of 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro is slightly more expensive than its close competitors. In comparison with automatic Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, buyers need to pay approx $4,000 more. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon comes for $45,040, which is almost equal to 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. A 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4 comes only at $39,525, whereas a 2019 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is priced at $34,285. So, how 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro attracts buyers in the market is next to be seen.
