Audi A4 Sedan

An argument can be made that the Audi A4 is one of the best performing entry-level premium sedans on sale in the American market today. The car is not just one of the bestselling offering from the ‘four ring’ brand but has also given stiff competition to its rivals ever since its introduction. Audi has never been the one to shy away from flaunting its innovative technology and that can be seen not only in the features offered in the 2019 A4 but also across the range of engine options which are both powerful as well as efficient. Over the years the A4 has proven to be somewhat of an entry-level premium sedan hero much like its celebrity drivers from its several on-screen outings.

For the 2019 A4 model, Audi has wrapped the new car in refreshed exteriors featuring trapezoidal exhaust finishes and s-line bumpers. Inside the cabin much like its smaller sibling, Audi has fitted the A4 with onboard Wi-Fi, a trick digital gauge display and two USB charging points for the rear seat passengers. Some of the exciting features offered in the 2019 Audi A4 are optional extras which might be a letdown for the buyers. This includes features like a wireless smartphone charging pad and an optional convenience package which comes with rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. 

Audi also offers a sport package for the 2019 A4 which includes aluminum interior accents, sport seats, a sport-tuned suspension, and black cloth headliner. Audi has also done away with the 6-speed manual transmission and there won't be any changes anytime soon, as a new model is soon on its way.

Like the 2019 A3, the Audi A4 is also available in four trims with the pricing starting from $39,200 for the base 'Titanium’ model, all the way up to a $46,200 top-end 'Prestige' variant. Customers can also pick between 'Premium Plus' and 'Prestige' variant which feature a $42,900 and $46,200 price tags, respectively. The 'Premium Plus' and 'Prestige' models are also offered with Audi’s trademark Quattro all-wheel-drive system as an optional extra.

A 2-liter, 4-cylinder, 188 BHP turbocharged engine which produces 236 lb-ft of torque is offered as standard across every 2019 A4 variant. Audi also offers a more powerful two-liter unit which produces 248 BHP of power and 273 lb-ft of torque, in the Quattro versions of 'Premium Plus' and 'Prestige' models. The standard turbocharged engine accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds whereas the more powerful motor completes the same sprint in 5.6 seconds. Unsurprisingly the standard engine is more frugal as compared to its sportier counterpart and features an EPA estimated combined fuel economy of 30 mpg whereas the more powerful unit gets a 27 mpg estimate.

The 2019 Audi A4 equipped with the optional full-LED headlights was the top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). A4 was also awarded a five-star rating from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), however, it should be noted that several driver-assistance features are only offered on the more expensive models. Features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring are all optional extras. Standard safety features offered on the 2019 Audi A3 include forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
