The Nissan Titan XD is a pickup truck that has a bit more capacity than the Ford F-150 but the ride height, comfort and the fuel economy of the Ford F-250. Nissan has very recently introduced the 2020 model with the same engine but even more torque. The Titan XD is the bigger version of the standard Titan. In addition to the 5.6L V8 making 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque from the standard Titan it also gets a Cummins 5L V8 turbo diesel making 310 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is either a seven-speed automatic for the petrol or an Aisin 6 speed automatic for the diesel. Rear-wheel drive is standard while a switch-operated 2-speed transfer case 4-wheel drive is also available. An electronic locking rear differential is also available. Nissan has also given the Titan XD a 7” touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are 5 trims on offer here with prices starting from $35000.

Nissan Titan XD is one of its kind, it’s available in three different bed length models Single cab, King cab, and Crew cab. The Single cab is available in S and SC grades, King cab is available in S, SC, and Pro-4x grades, while Crew cab is available in all the grades including SL and Premium Reserve. This year's upgrades include a standard 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, additional USB ports, and Fender audio system with 12 speakers. Titan XD comes with starting prices of $32,990 and competes against Ford F-150, Ram 1500. However, being powered by the Cummins 5.0L engine, Titan XD proves to be less powerful than its competitors. Though Nissan Titan XD is larger in size, lighter in weight, it gets you better fuel efficiency and also more space for towing. When it comes to the interiors of this truck, it proves to be improved in terms of cabin comfort compared with its sibling Titan. Indeed, Titan XD is a worthy truck with an array of features and refined engine performance, and high-grade towing and hauling capability.

Nissan Titan XD Interior & Features
In terms of interiors, Titan XD is the identical as of Titan. But the exterior design remains the same as of the previous year model, there are no major upgrades and enhancements to its appearance. There are a few differentiating factors between Titan and Titan XD. Like, the later one comes with heated side mirrors with turn indicators, trailer brake controller and trailer light check as standard on all grades except the base grade. Apart from these, with Titan XD Crew Cab variants, you’ll get a longer wheelbase of 151.6 inches.
Nissan Titan XD Ride & Handling
Titan XD is built on the full-body frame ladder architecture and rides firm and balanced. Unlike many heavy trucks that deliver harsh ride quality. XD takes road input in the right manner, in the front, the independent double-wishbone suspension comes with a stabilizer bar and balances the ride while ensuring intact handling. While the multi-leaf suspension in the rear comes with a solid axle and stabilizer bar. In terms of handling, Nissan Titan XD maintain average response and lacks a good control over the wheels.
Titan XD Engine & Fuel Consumption
There are a few factors that differentiate Nissan Titan XD from Titan. XD comes standard with the 5.6L V8 Turbocharged diesel engine, which produces significant power of 390 hp at 5,800 rpm Torque — 394 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. It also gets the optional 5.0L Cummins V8 diesel engine. This engine significantly produces a lower power of 310 hp at 3,200 rpm but gives you a better torque of 555 lb-ft at 1,600 rpm. Hence proves to be better in terms of towing and hauling. Titan XD can tow up to 12,7100 pounds. That’s significantly much better than Titan’s towing capability.

Nissan has kept Titan XD as the duty-bound pickup truck, that performs with great force and does stop when you command to. To be precise, in the front wheels, XD is equipped with 14.17" x 1.5" vented disc brakes and 14.37" x 1.2" vented disc brakes in the rear. While the 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System and Brakeforce Distribution System tender intact braking. Moreover, in terms of passive safety features, XD offers Nissan airbag system with the driver's single-stage function and passenger's dual-stage function.
