Audi Q5 facelift to procreate a new Sportback version

German automakers of luxury vehicles like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have been making concrete efforts to showcase a lineage of coupe-style SUVs and some of these models include BMW X4, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Mercedes GLC Coupe. Guess this time, Audi would also like to have a bite in this apple and is all set to launch Audi Q5 Sportback as part of the Q5 facelift range. This newest offering from Audi is sure to give a jolting battle to BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe.

When it does eventually debut, do expect the Q5 Sportback model to be identical to standard Q5 in terms of mechanical hues, so be prepared to see the same engine, transmission and powertrain features. Besides that, even the interior and cabin technology is going to be on much similar lines.

Audi Q5 side

The new Audi Q5 Sportback will presumably arrive in the German dealership next spring. Joining the Q5 Sportback league will be a more powerful sibling, SQ5 Sportback. Adding to much of our excitement, sources reveal that a new variant is also under the process of development which would be a non-Sportback Q5. Camouflaged spy shots of the mid-cycle updated variant, gave a glimpse of the front and rear fascia.

At the heart of Q5 Sportback, you will perhaps see the same engine as its Q5 sibling which is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that can ignite 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. This is mated with a 7-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid version has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor,  together sparking a 367 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Apart from this, Audi’s all-wheel-drive system can also be spotted in the facelifted model.

Besides the heart underneath the machine, we also expect the facelifted Q5 to borrow the styling hues from A4 including a narrow front grille, revamped headlights and taillights. Minor designing tweaks could also be incorporated into the front and rear bumpers. The updated Q5 should also get a completely overhauled cabin with a larger10.1-inch infotainment screen.

Audi Q5 cabin

The outgoing Audi Q5 model already has widespread popularity and is amongst the best-selling models of Audi and now the facelifted model is sure to maintain the sales records.

Audi Q8 was the brand’s first real “Coupe” SUV, which was then followed by the Q3 Sportback. So now its Audi’s turn to jump into the X4/GLC Coupe segment and gain the much-deserved popularity.

We could anticipate that those willing to have the facelifted version of Q5 will have to loosen their pockets, little more. Audi will charge a premium amount for the stylish Q5 Sportback. According to German press sources, the new facelift of Q5 will cost you over $45,000, but still making it way cheaper as compared to its closest competitors BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe.
