Nissan announces prices of 2020 GT-R range

The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Nissan, has announced the pricing details of its GT-R lineup. As expected, all the 2020 GT-R models get a price increment over the previous models. Also, the company has dropped the Pure trim from the range, which now includes only three versions, namely Premium, Track, and NISMO.

The GT-R range has received price hikes throughout the years of its extent. The lineup is composed of a total of five models but the 2020 model year features only three of them. As mentioned before, the company, for some reasons, has dropped the entry-level Pure trim from the lineup, which was the only variant to have a 5-digit price figure. This makes the Premium version as the entry level coaster of the GT-R range, which is now priced at $ 115,235. The Track and Nismo now boast a price tag of $ 147,235 and $ 212,435, respectively. All this equates to a $ 14,000 increase in the price of the Premium trim, over $ 17,000 for the Track model, and $ 35,300 increment for the NISMO.

Apart from the three models, the GT-R lineup also comprises of the 50th Anniversary Edition package, which is priced at $ 8,500 more the Premium trim. The model celebrates the racing heritage of the GT-R. It gets an alluring colour scheme, premium cabin, Alcantara headliner, and an array of 50th Anniversary badging. As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Track and NISMO share the GT-R's twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V-6 engine that makes a maximum power of 600 hp. The Premium, on the other hand, receives a detuning and gets a maximum power output of 565 hp only.

The price increment includes numerous performance-improving upgrades on the Track model such as 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, carbon-fibre rear spoiler, and NISMO-tuned suspension units. On the other hand, the NISMO receives weight-reducing tweaks and a reprofiled automatic transmission that helps in enhancing the performance of the car.
